Building the Future Through Workforce and Business Development

The Hispanic community has become one of the most important drivers of growth in the U.S. construction industry. Today, Hispanic workers represent nearly one-third of the national construction workforce and have accounted for more than half of the industry’s workforce growth in recent years. At the same time, Hispanic-owned construction businesses continue to grow in number and economic impact, creating jobs, supporting local economies, and contributing to the development of critical infrastructure across the country.

Despite this remarkable contribution, significant challenges remain. Hispanic workers remain underrepresented in management and leadership positions, while many Hispanic- owned construction businesses operate as small firms without employees and face barriers to growth, access to capital, workforce development, and contracting opportunities. The Hispanic Construction Institute (HCI) was created to help bridge these gaps by providing workforce training, leadership development, business education, and strategic industry partnerships that strengthen both individuals and companies.
